The African
Health OER Network is the exciting outcome of a
one-year endeavour to develop a sustainable and scalable
OER programme to support health education, particularly
in developing countries. The network provides a platform
for African health academics to freely access and share
educational materials as well as to debate key issues
around the future of health education for healthcare
workers in Africa. The aim of the network is to share
and circulate health-related educational materials by
building links to existing resources (e.g., programmes,
modules, courses), which authors have shared under a
Creative Commons licence.
Participation in the African Health OER Network is
free and open and there are no conditions for joining. There
is also no obligation to sign anything to join the Network,
but we do encourage all individuals and institutions
to add their electronic signatures to a joint Statement
of Commitment. For an individual, signing indicates
a commitment and support of the African Health OER Network.
For an institution, signing means a commitment to open
education through undertaking initiatives or making
policies aligned with the vision of the African Health
OER Network.
Please show your dedication in helping to improve the
provision of African Health education by joining us
on the African Health OER Network and signing the declaration
(see
attached invitation).
