It is with great pleasure that, on behalf of Saide, I welcome Innocent Nkata as its next Executive Director. Innocent comes with a wealth of experience at a high level in both international and local NGOs, having worked at Oxfam, Action Aid, Health Systems Trust and Soul City. He has particular expertise in educational media from his experience at Soul City but, most recently, as the Managing Director of Sesame Workshop, where he set up the South African Office. For the last couple of months, he has worked closely with me in engaging on the wide range of Saide’s initiatives, as well its governance and management structures. I have enjoyed interacting with him and appreciate his strategic outlook, his structured way of thinking, as well as his commitment to the nuts and bolts of the organisation. As I officially retire in August, I leave with every confidence that the work of Saide will continue and achieve new heights.
