Audiographic conferencing
Audiographic systems add to the audio channel different forms of low-bandwidth graphics, such as text, diagrams, telewriting, or pictures. The level, quality, and flexibility of the visual support vary widely from one system to another, depending on the communication bandwidth and on the sophistication of the tutor's and learners' stations, software, and peripherals. Some systems allow users to annotate a computer display screen or electronic whiteboard with a keyboard or graphics pen and then to transmit the annotations to the screens at the remote sites. More complex computer-based systems allow collaboration, with participants at each site working together to develop a file or document held on the system server.
