NADEOSA will host its second webinar on 19 August 2021.The focus will be on strategies for building online education communities with equity and care. The webinar will be facilitated by Professor Maha Bali of the Center for Learning and Teaching at the American University in Cairo, Egypt.

With the increasing use of technology in teaching and learning, and its even more ubiquitous use as a result of the global COVID-19 pandemic, distance higher education institutions and practitioners are progressively required to familiarise themselves with key technologies and applications to enhance and facilitate effective learning at a distance.

The webinar, will therefore address critical questions relating to designing programmes and courses while factoring in care and equity for the learners. Professor Maha Bali’s session will address the following questions:

  • How do we do this in course designs (compassionate learning design)?
  • How do equity and care intersect and interact?
  • How do we promote equity and care at the institutional as well as individual levels?
  • What do we need to do in educational institutions post-pandemic?

This webinar is part of a series that NADEOSA is hosting in line with its commitment to supporting its members by creating opportunities for sharing learnings and strategies and for engagement on a range of topics relevant to the provision of high-quality distance education. The first webinar for 2021 was held on 25 March and focused on how to use Zoom tools for teaching and learning purposes.
